What are Blackheads?
It looks like nasty black dots on the top of the skin. They are called open comedo. They are skin coloured bumps when you have a pimple. When you have blackheads, these large pores become clogged with sebum. Our skin produces melanin which is oxidized and turns the clogged pores into black in color. This form of acne is often found on your back, shoulders and face.
What are Whiteheads?
These are closed comedo. These are follicles beneath our skin which becomes filled with bacteria and have a small white opening on the top of your skin. This type of acne is also found on your shoulder, back and face.
